If the government don't take Doctors seriously , what hope for other caring professions

If only the quick fix dummies would realize that we well trained and tested would use a hammer that is smaller, better designed , less destructive and much less wasteful than the one they usually dump on the dumb taxpayer or screen speculator.

How deeply our meddling dogooders have invested in big hammers that do not work
They spend our limited resources  in the new chairs and beds and new growth and recovery areas that do not work.
An extremely clear and powerful outline of how the worn out health carers of our world are being ignored in Australia is out lined by
Dr Danielle McMullen    Look her up on National Press Club on I view The people are not being protected. If the profoundly qualified AMA is having trouble getting the government to listen closely to their well known imperatives ( a sugar tax for example ) imagine how we as environmental health professionals ( with no history or advocacy agency) feel . GP's may spend their days frustrated by their limited ability to prevent ageing , poor eating and exercise disease but I am frustrated by a much deeper proeffesional loss of opportunity -simple nonsense and fear can be addressed to great productivity if political incompetence ( our joint enemy ) was more contained THINGS WE AGREE ON 1,Bring back commissions and proper professional structures that resist political and other interference . Greenlabor any have some good ambitions but they are not respectful of us (and industry) I It's taken the dummies decades to realize electricity could be managed best by commissions ( the old English way) While such structures ( like properly run Authorities) always have limits . the need for housing, health and environmental health commissions would help us avoid the ruthless reactionary meddling of polys

Less Quackery and less Panic - We hope for more peace and push for more professional care in the new year

Recent floods in Wye and Erskine rivers were a surprise to our Emergency Authorities in Victoria. Not to some of us who are properly trained to prevent disasters, rather than paying for roundups after the horse has bolted.

It is tempting to think that an automatic weather recorder at Peter's Hill would have alerted the Authorities over the years  to the short return period for such events . No, the priority has to change to learning to anticipate. The myth that we will know more by having more information must be resisted and dealt with as a maldaptive distraction from screen saviors; one that often only increases the worry , confusion and panic. We need to insist on proper doctoring, efficient and effective decisionmaking ( not endless waiting for fact checks)  and feedback from those still on the ground.

The key thing to avoid this widespread Western panic syndrome to have is less Authorities and more respect for Authority- more genuine respect for those who train to show themselves approved.

The huge blowout in costs in the care industry (including in the fire levies ) are due to bad doctoring and the killing off of good care and monitoring practice. Like the authors who create these new empires they feed us with lollies when we need to heed the good doctors advice on diet and listen better to their more considered and less panic prone advice. ( say on testing for every disease known to the mind)
Thankfully noone has lost their life, but the very same predictable event filled houses with silt in Geelong , and cut through the water supply channel to Geelong, in November 1995.
The reason why we are not learning to anticipate these things better, is because our leaders like to think they can run the environment, and run it better with more Authorities (eg CMA , GORCAPA) and more information feeding up to them, in particular. All Emperors work on feeding that line.
True authorship and authority comes from the bottom and Greenlabor in their arrogance have killed off the doctors of the earth who anticipate how things will go wrong and do not wait, as the empire managers do, till the data tells them things are going wrong.
Fanaticism has a very long history on the earth and we in Australia can nip its tyranny in the bud, if we do things to stop its growth amongst us. The floor of the Victorian Parliament , and the many good medicine practitioners in this country, tells us exactly how.
I have to raise this issue again because the next government must stop feeding the worry warriors ( who would all have us monitoring our dementia levels ?) to stop the costly bleeding and bleeting in the care stakes.
The next government must again honor our rural children with careers as doctors and switch off their current drug like feed to the city speculators and empire builders to again train and mentor doctors for the bush .
The cost of care will go down and more money will be more wisely spent on prevention and a lot less on panic management.
